There are some big,colossal,gargantuan problem with the computer.Really,I'm not kidding you.For some unfathomable reason,the computer has to choose this day to "crash".[open inverted commas are used as it isn't exactly that.sometimes,the web page said that I'm offline so I've to refresh the page umpteen times etc.It's really irritating.-_-]
Here's my promise to you.The orientation.Not gonna repeat all the boring stuff I've uttered in my diary.No,absolutely not.Here it goes.The highlights of each day.[P.S. There was none for day1,unless you count learning mass dance and playing games in school.]
As for day 2,we went to Sentosa.Apparently,according to some unknown resources,this Sentosa outing was conducted every year during orientation.I shall skipped the games part and tell you the dreadful ending.We were transported to Sentosa by bus but we had to go home on our own.It's really great.Really.
It's pure luck that I've suggested to my new-found friends that we took a tram to the destination instead of walking.Do you know the reason why I say so?It's because one have to walk for a long,long,long way back.At least20-30 minutes.Pitied many people who chose to walk.
We had came across too many people.100+,or so I think.Uncertain of the exact figure.
Anyway,we were surely one of the earliest batch to go home.We got onto the first bus out to Harbourfront.Mixed feelings was exactly what I possessed when I watched the queue didn't waned,but instead proliferated.Triumph,delight at boarding the first bus crashed terribly with the feelings of some weird empathy I had for the rest stranded in the perennial queue.
It took me by some surprise when I received the news that 彩妆,my new-found friend,transfer to Yishun J.C on the following day.She had mentioned it during the returning trip back from Sentosa.Of course,I didn't took her words for jest.It's just that I had assumed that she'll only left after orientation.Hence,I found myself in a sticky position-bereft of a partner for mass dance and the need to find a hasty replacement.I did did it,found a partner,I mean.
Anyway,here's the list of Zhonghuarians who go to N.Y.[may not recall a few]Just to name a few-Melaine,Si Ting,Jasclyn,Justin,Min Ling,Park Meng,Sherry,Wei Sheng,Calvin[whoever he is,I didn't know him,didn't recognise him when I heard his English name.Perhaps you,anechan knows.Guess he's in CLDDS as our senior[sorry,I've forgotten her name.P.S. She's also from CLDDS] told me she buttonholed them to join Channel News Nanyang,so I reckoned he's afflicted with our CCA as well.By the way,I've also signed up for this CCA.
You an guess what this whole issue is about from its none too elusive name,right?It's something to do with videoing,editing school-related videos/short clips, writing compositions etc.It's pretty decent but I wanna join something that is more distinguished and interesting-like a CCA in N.Y that have cosplay,watch anime,manga etc.A bit receptive about the cosplay part,though.I didn't want to waste cold hard cash buying custom-made costume.By the way,Siang Ling and Li Teng,how's your cosplay coming along?When and where will it be held?Kinda curious to know that.Please tell me.
I've digressed.Back on track.The mass dance was not the highlight of the day.No,it isn't.It should be the performance put up by various candidates from different O.Gs[Don't ask me what it stands for.Have no inkling.It is similar to groups] and Disco Night.
First I shall tell you more about the competitions.There was something called Eye candy competition besides the dance competition.It was the search for the most handsome and prettiest guy and girl respectively.As for the Dancing King and Queen,both of them danced really well.You have to personally witnessed their superb performance and you'll be amazed,like me,at their ability to twist and shimmer in every way possible.
Disco Night was really the best I've ever experienced.Anechan and fantong,you'll definitely regret it that you didn't came to N.Y!All the lights in the hall were off and there were many English pop-songs being played.All of us just swayed or did something else according to the rhythm.For instance,we put our shoulders over one another and went around in circles.Yeah.I know all these seems boring to you .
Wait till you are of age to go to discos and other places.Then you'll know exactly what I mean.Adrenaline pounded through me as I shake according to the beat.After 7-8 songs,all this came to an end.Lights were on and then we truly began the mass dance.All of us were drenched in sweat after lights were turned on.You'll be surprise at the amount of sweat.
Come to think of it,I'll like to venture into Zouk or some other places like it.I've simply fallen in love,maybe not that dramatic,or rather,I've come to have a penchant to dance.Never did I realise how much fun it was to dance.It came as a bolt of pleasantly warm surprise to me.
Of course,I do realise that listening to loud pounding music played in Discos in the long run will damage your ear drums,but I won't be that extreme as to do so frequently.Anyway,it's too early to say-I'm still not of age to step into a Disco,right?Li Teng,please recover quickly and inform me when you do so!!Can't wait till then!!That's all for orientation.
Will tell you more about the subject combinations next.I've chosen Lep[same as you,Siang Ling,have heard this from Jasclyn]so I'm compelled to take H2CLL and China Studies.All of us were given no choice but to choose 4 H2 subjects.The other subjects I've taken are Maths and History.what subject combinations did you'all choose?Tell me.Here's some piece of info.If one is in Lep programme,he or she is compelled to join Literary Liaison-博文学会.It' supposed to be a CCA which is set up to aid those in Lep.I've to join.Bye.
P.S.If you care to know,I've completed the written assignments so I've some spare time to write here.Have to do a lot of reading though.Sigh.We were given 2 free copies of Chinese books[collection of works of students] to read.I've to read 8 pages of English passages in preparation as well.Besides that,the 6+ books I've borrowed from the library during the first few days of school are due on 20th and 27th Jan respectively.Wonder how I'm gonna finished that pile.
